Description

Label: Koo Bohnchang's work echoes the pure, minimal forms of ceramics from Korea's Joseon dynasty (1392-1910) by translating the essence of traditional whiteware vessels into contemporary mediums. Featuring Joseon dynasty works from several museums, including the Asian Art Museum, Koo's video subtly moves from one vessel to the next, allowing the viewer space to contemplate their delicate balance of functionality, creativity, and beauty. Koo created this video for the Asian Art Museum's exhibition, Dual Natures in Ceramics: Eight Contemporary Artists from Korea, presented at San Francisco International Airport.
